Below are some of the most important things you need to get started with starting your new business.

1. Create an LLC (or other business entity) through the Virginia SCC. Cost: ~$100

2. Secure a Federal EIN number with the IRS. Cost: Free.

3. Get a local business license. If you have an office it will be where your office/wearhouse is located. If you work from home then your home address. Cost: Often free or low cost.

4. General business misc items: create business email, business social media, business phone number (check out free and low-cost phone apps).
